After five weeks of broadband use, Jeremy Hannis-Ashton - the managing director of a training company - was thrilled with the speed and convenience of the new technology.
The TDS (Training Development Services) Partnership - located in Bangor, Wales - has five employees and has been in existence for seven years. It offers training in IT and management, and has been quick to embrace the benefits of ADSL.
Now all its staff and as many as 45 students can be online throughout the working day as they send emails, conduct research and also make online purchases.
“The speed is the main advantage,” said Jeremy, whose company had used traditional dial-up Internet access for two to three years before adopting ADSL. “It is fast and there are no longer any problems downloading information. It is also an advantage to be online all day long. We’ve had no problems, and it has performed very well every day that it has been used.
“There is huge potential for online training and our aim for the future is to run courses over the Internet. It is a very powerful service. The company is now permanently online and saves time and money by communicating via email rather than fax or snail mail.”
