Deloitte & Touche LLP’s latest comprehensive calls analysis on behalf of BT has been completed based on average calling patterns of BT Business customers. Deloitte & Touche has analysed data related to actual BT customer call bills. From this, the average spend profile of BT Business customers spending at least £10 per quarter has been determined and this profile has been used to compare against key competitors.
The calling patterns that this analysis is based on are shown below.
Based on the analysis of customers spending at least £10 per quarter on calls, Deloitte & Touche found that for the average BT Business customer1: • Total Bill
Within this category, the largest saving by any competitor is only 8% against BT Business Plan. BT Business Plan’s overall position is likely to be even stronger by factoring in an additional 5% Reward3 that customers can receive at the end of their contract. • Fixed to Mobile Call spend to mobiles contributes to nearly 40% of the overall call bill – the largest single call type.
Against an average of competitors in the analysis, BT Business Plan is 4.6% cheaper Based on average day time rates across the four major mobile operators, Deloitte & Touche compared BT Business Plan against the main competitor tariffs. Based on 2, 3 and 10 minute calls BT Business Plan is 4.8% cheaper than the average competitor tariff.

• Calls to NTS (Network Translation Services) NTS call spend contributes to around 10% of the overall call bill.
Against an average of competitors in the analysis, BT Business Plan is 38% cheaper on NTS calls.
