Connection charges cover the installation of a new SDSL wiring as
required.
Each customer connection will have a connection charge and a rental charge. The service is subject to a minimum period of 12 months. BT Business Broadband Advanced includes our Service Guarantee. In
accordance with the conditions for BT Business Broadband Advanced, if you terminate the contract within
the minimum period, you will be liable for rental charges for the remainder of the minimum period.
Speed re-grade
A speed re-grade will incur a one-off re-grade fee that will appear on your next bill. A new minimum period of 12 months will apply to any speed re-grade. If you upgrade to a higher bandwidth during the minimum period, you will not have to pay outstanding minimum period rental charges for the original service. For a speed re-grade to a lower bandwidth during the minimum period, you will be required to pay BT any outstanding minimum period rental charges for the original service. Charge: £250 (ex VAT)
Move to new premises/external shifts
A move to new premises requires re-wiring of the exchange. Charge: £595 (ex VAT)
Internal shifts
An internal shift is where the main socket is moved to another location within the same premises. Charges apply to shifts during the normal working hours. Charge: £99 (ex VAT)
Excess construction charge
In exceptional circumstances, we may need to carry out additional wiring before we can install an SDSL line.
We will, of course, inform you, if this is the case, advise you of the additional charges, and await your approval before carrying out the work.
Customer access circuit - order cancellation
A one-off cancellation charge will apply to any order cancelled 3 or less working days before the confirmed appointment date, or at any time after the appointment date has passed, ie, in the case of re-appointments. Charge: £310 (ex VAT)
In addition to the cancellation charge, we will expect to recover the full cost of any work that has already been carried out when the cancellation is made, eg, the cost of the wiring.
Abortive visit charge
You may also incur an abortive visit charge if one or more site visits have been conducted prior to a cancellation of an order.
BT reserves the right to levy an abortive visit charge in the following cases:
- When a BT engineer attends an incorrect address as provided by the customer
- When the BT engineer arrives to carry out the installation at the address provided by the customer, but the customer no longer wants the installation completed
- When entry is refused to the customer's address, or no access can be gained at the appointed time agreed between BT and the customer
- When the customer reports a fault and a BT engineer attends the customer address and discovers the fault is not due to BT
- When the customer has reported a problem that is not verified by BT and, following the customer's request for an engineering visit, BT cannot confirm the existence of the reported fault. Charge: £55 (ex VAT) per attendance
